Summer Camp

February 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I can’t believe it is already March. 2008 is really flying, isn’t it? As I sit here with Spring Break right around the corner, I am also fully aware that just beyond that lies the 3 months that all kids love for… Summer Break. While it is certainly a busy time in the life of any youth pastor, I look forward to those months. I look forward to them because I know that while the schedule is packed with camps and mission trips and activities, that the end result is your students growing closer to Christ. Summer makes space for relationships, and relationships here model Christ’s love for us and commitment to our growth. Summers are invaluable.

We are excited about our Summer Camp this summer as we move into a new phase of ministry here at River City. This is the first year we will be holding separate camps for the junior high and the high school. We made that decision so that we could create a unique camp experience that will minister more completely to our students and help them encounter Christ right where they are while unpacking the issues that face their specific age group. Real Camp: J-Hi will take place June 16-19 and High School will follow from the 23-27. The cost this year is $195, but you can begin to make installments now in the Youth Center to help spread the cost out. Look for forms in the Youth Center, at the Information Center, and on the web at reallife.org.

It is a privilege to work with your students, and I am excited to see what God has in store for us this summer. Please pray for our team as we lead these students towards new depths in their faith. Also, for a complete event calendar and for some helpful articles on raising teenagers, follow this link to our Parent Link Newsletter. God bless!
